The Silverfork neighborhood is the most populated area in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Located about a mile or so below Solitude Resort, Silverfork has been home to miners, skiers, Salt Lake City weekenders as well as a vibrant year round community. Historic miner cabins, nestle up against new mountain homes. Silverfork is split by Utah Highway 210. North of the Highway is offers dramatic views across the canyon to Silverfork Canyon and some of Utah’s best backcountry ski options. The South side of the highway offers a number private wooded areas, some of them bisected by Big Cottonwood Creek. Some areas have views of Solitude’s ski slopes. It is perhaps the most versatile neighborhood in the canyon.
